Sunday 21st June saw CCB take on the Cambridge University Bowmen in a Western round for our annual Town vs Gown competition!

A great day was had by all, with CCB retaining the trophy in the Recurve Team event. The team comprised Jack, Felicia, Coomaren (not pictured) and Andy. [read]

Tournament 2025

Its spring again and May 10th and 11th saw the annual WRS tournament return to Downing playing fields. Approximately 140 participants basked under glorious blue skies and battled a brisk wind to have a great weekend. [read]

CCB WRS Tournament 2024

May 11 and 12 saw the return of our annual world record status tournament. The vent ran smoothly and was greatly appreciate by the approx. 140 attendees. The success owes a lot to Jack’s efforts though the year in planning and organising. [read]

Summer shooting starts again

Summer 2024 is upon us (sort of) and with the later nights comes the opportunity to return to outdoor shooting after a long winter of indoor rounds. The weather proved to be on our side for once and we managed a good mix of archers for this inaugural event. [read]

Summer Celebrations

On 21 August the club held its first social event since the pandemic.

What was intended as a BBQ was turned into a kitchen catered event due to the tinder-dry outfield.

Around 25 members and guests turned out on a lovely sunny afternoon

Equipment officer Mark Yard and his wife Lucie laid on a cornucopia of foods and a splendid assortment of games including a very competitive egg and spoon race. [read]

Jolly Archers Open Western 2022

Jolly’s Open western resumed its usual July date this year (31 July 2022).
CCB had a record attendance with 8 archers making the trip to Huntingdon
We mixed seasoned competitors (Jack, Richard, Anke, Lydia, Huw); new to external comps (Alvaro); and those returning after a longish absence form competition (Seb, Patrick). [read]

CCB at Cambridgeshire County Champs

The Cambridgeshire outdoor County Championships took place on 19th June 2022 at Girton College, hosted by Peacock Archers. Compound Success at Kestrels’ York/Hereford

On 8th May 2022 the intrepid CCB Compound Team of Jack and Lydia made their way over the border to Kestrels’ Archery Club of Biggleswade in Bedfordshire to shoot a York/Hereford competition. The first big event for a couple of years it was a chance to blow off the cobwebs somewhat. [read]
