2018 National Indoor Championships

Sunday, December 2nd, 2018

4 CCB archers took part in the National Indoor Championships on 2nd December (Charlotte Rossetti, Anke Hannemann, Jack Kelly and Lydia Sinnett-Smith) and two hangers on were also there.

The format of this competition is a 5 dozen ranking round, the top 32 then go through to a head to head knockout competition. Shooting is on 40cm 3- spot faces.

In the Ladies Recurve Charlotte fell away after a strong start and narrowly missed a top 32 place. Anke similarly didn’t make it through. In the men’s compound Jack missed out too.

In the Ladies Compound Lydia was one of 3 archers tied for 32nd place. They faced a one arrow shoot off. Lydia held her nerve to score a 10 to take her through to head to heads. As 32nd seed she faced 1st seed, and eventual winner, Sarah Prieels and lost 148-140 (maximum score is 150).

Anyone can enter the event (just have to be quick registering) and it was a great day. Impressive to see such a big event and there are trade stands for shopping. And if you lose at least it’s to the best in the country. We have more pictures and will find a way to display them later.
